The short answer...

A clever, highly adaptive system that uses spaced repetition learning to drill high-yield USMLE Step 1 related facts into you.

The long answer...

Nowadays USMLE Step 1 questions generally try to test the application of knowledge rather than simple factual recall. Such questions however require some background knowledge which is then used to derive the answer. The problem is that at the level of the USMLE Step 1 this may mean thousands of individual facts.

The flashcard tutor is an adaptive system which can help 'audit' your knowledge of key exam related facts. We think it is the most efficient way to drill relevant facts into you.

Some basic facts about the flashcard tutor

  • Facts are rated for relevance to the USMLE Step 1 by the editorial team and other users. Questions based on the most relevant facts are presented first.
  • The system remembers what facts you don't know (but need to know) and will keep coming back to the same area until it is confident you have retained the information
  • The interface is designed for speed to ensure you can cover as much ground as possible. For example, the system only stops to show relevant revision notes if you get the question wrong.
  • There is no 'end' to the flashcard tutor. The system keeps testing your knowledge on key facts ad infinitum
We'd be really interested to know if you find the flashcard tutor helpful - let us know what you think.
